A few words from some tactrainers alumni............

“John Linenbach is an outstanding handgun instructor. He is well versed, organized and patient. He is able to convey clear and concise instructions while maintaining a positive approach. He has the ability to instruct beginning students, as well as those who are already skilled at tactical shooting. If a student wants to learn a very specific skill he will research it and provide a customized session for learning that skill. We have been very fortunate to have an instructor with his credentials and multifaceted shooting abilities. We highly recommend him.”

*tactrainers Defensive Shooting Series

These classes are designed to reinforce each other. These are stand-alone classes so they don’t have to be taken in order. These classes are 4 hours each so the time commitment will still fit into a busy schedule. They are designed with Self-Defense applications in mind. There is a limit of 4 shooters per class to maintain a high instructor to student ratio.

*Defensive Series Class:  Speed, Accuracy, and Movement

            (Dynamic Techniques for Dynamic Applications)

Speed, Accuracy, and Movement builds your fundamental techniques like stance, grip, trigger control, and sight focus into a blend of actions that work with each other and with the recoil of the weapon. These are the techniques that advanced shooters use today which don’t conflict with each other, they allow for economy of motion while presenting, firing, and reloading the weapon. These techniques are just as easy to learn as the “old school” style but 10 times more effective.

Prerequisite: 6 months shooting experience or CCW holder

4 hours

200 rounds

*Defensive Series Class:    Running & Gunning

               (Intro to shooting while moving)

Running & Gunning moves the shooter into the practice of shooting while moving. In self defense, one of the most effective ways to spoil an attacker's plan is to move. (Even if you do not shoot, moving greatly increases your chances of survival). This class safely guides the shooter (one step at a time) into proficiency at moving and shooting.

Prerequisite: 6 months shooting experience or CCW holder

4 hours

300 rounds

*Defensive Series Class:    Moving With a Mission

(Finding cover, moving to cover, using cover)

Moving With a Mission exposes the shooter to ways of recognizing the better choices of available cover, moving to that cover, and how to make the best use of different types of cover. The shooter will also use shooting-on-the-move techniques with the cover as a destination.

Prerequisite: 6 months shooting experience or CCW holder

4 hours

300 rounds

*Defensive Series Class:    Weapon Retention & Close Quarters Shooting

This class introduces some of the ways the shooter’s weapon can be taken away, and techniques which will help the shooter to hang on to it. Students will learn to better judge how close a person has to be to perform a disarm and when to switch techniques from conventional to retention, or from retention to conventional. Shooters will learn effective ways to score hits on close targets while maintaining control and possession of their firearm.

Prerequisite: 3 other Defensive Series Classes
