Double Alpha Academy ....the online store of Saul Kirsch, former Olympic Rifle shooter and presently Grand Master rated IPSC/USPSA shooter. For great instructional DVD's and books as well as shooting accessories visit :

The fundamentals of marksmanship are the building blocks for all the so-called "high speed" skills that defensive shooters pursue. When you see an IDPA or USPSA shooter multi-tasking with his or her gun.....shooting on the move, reloading, hitting multiple targets of varied sizes at varied distances, shooting from cover, through windows and doorways, etc.......all at the average speed of .3 to .75 seconds per shot and sometimes faster.......understand that those shooters developed accuracy skills first before they were able to add all the extras to their skill sets. If you want to be a good defensive shooter, develop your accuracy first with supported grip...then with each hand unsupported. It takes over 1,000 repetitions of doing something right before it becomes a good habit or learned reaction. If you are going to the range and shooting more than 50 to 100 rounds with less than 90% of the shots landing where you want them, it's time to get some help from someone with credentials as an Instructor. (probably not one of the guys from work or your brother-in-law). It can take YEARS to figure out on your own what you can learn from an Instructor in 1 hour,
not to mention the $$spent on ammo reinforcing bad habits.
